Apple is rumored to be banking on its new Apple Intelligence to lead the sales pitch for the upcoming iPhone 16. With a launch event expected in September, this AI integration could drive significant consumer interest.
Mandatory Meetings Signal Major iPhone 16 Launch
Apple has reportedly set up a mandatory meeting for all Apple Store employees soon after the iPhone 16 event, which is anticipated to happen on September 10th, according to some recent tweets from Mark Gurman.
Depending on the store, the meetings will take place either in the morning of September 13th or in the evening of September 12th.
Gurman observes that the timing of these meetings is peculiar, given that Apple typically hosts them on Sundays instead of weekdays. It appears, though, that Apple will be taking a different approach with the release of the iPhone this year.
iPhone 16 to Feature Key Apple Intelligence
Gurman predicts that Apple Intelligence will play a significant role in the sales presentation for the iPhone 16 at Apple Stores, and he mentions that Apple has started training retail personnel on the subject in a subsequent tweet.
Due to its official postponement until iOS 18.1 in October, Apple Intelligence will not be available in September with the release of the iPhone 16.
AI Integration Delayed, Full Release in iOS 18.2
According to 9to5Mac, while more complex capabilities such as Image Playground, Genmoji, and ChatGPT integration will not be accessible until iOS 18.2 or later, features such as Writing Tools, Notification Summaries, and the new Siri interface will be available at that time.
So it's not shocking that Apple intends to promote the capabilities to customers in-store, considering that some analysts have projected that AI will boost iPhone 16 sales by as much as 10 million units.
