NEWARK, Del., June 29, 2017 -- Artesian Resources Corporation (NASDAQ:ARTNA), a leading provider of water, wastewater services and related services on the Delmarva Peninsula, announced that today, its principal subsidiary, Artesian Water Company, Inc., acquired the water assets of the Cantwell Water Company of Odessa. The purchase leverages Artesian’s newly expanded franchise area in southern New Castle County and allows the 40 customers previously on the Cantwell system to benefit from the efficiency of connection with Artesian’s source of supply from the now fully-integrated system in New Castle County.
The Cantwell Water Company acquisition follows Artesian’s recent acquisition of water assets in the nearby Town of Odessa. Artesian’s system now extends water service to the Veteran’s Watchmaker Initiative, Odessa Town Hall, Cantwell’s Tavern, properties of the Historic Odessa Foundation and private residences that can now enjoy the peace of mind of Artesian’s assured supply and advanced technical expertise in the operation, maintenance and treatment of public water systems. Artesian will also provide water service to the Appoquinimink School District Building and Appoquinimink Early Childhood Center, a transition that will significantly improve water quality and reliability assured by the multiple sources in Artesian’s regionalized system.
