ATLANTA, Feb. 04, 2016 -- American CareSource Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:GNOW), an urgent and primary care company operating under the name GoNow Doctors (the "Company"), was featured in the Atlanta Business Chronicle and Panama City News Herald.
The article in the Atlanta Business Chronicle, titled “Urgent-care chain GoNow Doctors plans big expansion,” outlines the Company’s plans to grow its chain of urgent-care centers through acquisitions and new center development. The Company closed a $7.5 million funding round on December 9, 2015 to fund an asset acquisition with Medac Health Services P.A., owner of four North Carolina urgent-care centers. In the article, Adam Winger, president and CEO, is quoted saying the Company intends to continue its expansion efforts in the South and Southeast and that the Company’s growth strategy is timely because the urgent care industry is one of the fastest-growing segments of the healthcare market. Upon the intended sale of its legacy business, the Company will be the only pure-play, publicly-traded urgent care company in the United States.

Separately, the Company’s role in expanding access to urgent care was reported in the Panama City News Herald. In the article, Mr. Winger says that GoNow Doctors, which has offices in both Panama City and Panama City Beach, is filling a need created largely by an increasing shortage of family care physicians. He states that GoNow Doctors can provide savings to patients over ER visits for non-emergencies.
