Hyundai Motor Co.’s Elec City hydrogen buses have been introduced as public city buses in Vienna, Austria.
Hyundai said that Wiener Linien, an Austrian public transportation agency, has launched an electric bus based on the Elec City hydrogen concept as a public bus in Vienna.
It is the automaker's first time exporting a hydrogen bus to another country for use in public transportation.
Three Elec City buses were sent to Austria as part of the latter’s HyBus Project where they will operate on the country's first hydrogen bus rapid transit network.
The three buses will start operations in Vienna, Graz, and Salzburg shortly.
