BNB Price Faces Pressure as DOJ Investigates Binance

BNB Price Faces Pressure as DOJ Investigates Binance.

Binance Coin (BNB) is facing renewed uncertainty as the US Department of Justice (DOJ) investigates whether cryptocurrency exchange Binance complied with its 2023 settlement agreement. Despite growing regulatory concerns, strong BNB ETF inflows have provided some support for investor sentiment.

At the time of reporting, BNB was trading around $748, with its 24-hour trading volume reaching $1.12 billion.

According to Bloomberg, the DOJ is examining Binance’s compliance with the $4.3 billion settlement reached in 2023. The agreement required the exchange to strengthen its compliance procedures after pleading guilty to violations of US banking regulations.

Tysen Duva, head of the DOJ’s criminal division, confirmed that an investigation remains ongoing but declined to disclose further details.

The development follows separate allegations involving potential violations of US sanctions against Iran. Binance CEO Richard Teng has rejected the accusations, emphasizing the exchange’s zero-tolerance policy toward sanctions violations.

Meanwhile, analysts remain divided over the BNB price outlook. Crypto analyst Crypto Patel believes BNB could eventually climb toward $2,000 after breaking above its previous accumulation range of $350 to $525.

However, analyst Jesse Olson identified a daily sell signal that could send BNB toward $600. Similarly, Cryptorphic warned that failure to reclaim the $746 level could trigger further losses toward $674.

Despite these bearish forecasts, institutional demand appears resilient. BNB ETFs have attracted $98.89 million in net inflows so far in October, marking their strongest monthly performance since launching in May 2026.

The inflows follow VanEck’s decision to update its spot BNB ETF to incorporate staking, potentially strengthening investor interest.

Technical indicators, however, suggest increasing downside risks. BNB recently slipped below the lower boundary of an ascending parallel channel, signaling weakening bullish momentum.

The cryptocurrency currently faces important support at $730, corresponding to the 61.8% Fibonacci retracement level. A sustained breakdown below this threshold could expose BNB to further declines toward $681.

Additionally, the Awesome Oscillator indicates fading momentum, while the Relative Strength Index (RSI) stands at 47, suggesting a slight bearish advantage.

For a bullish recovery, BNB must reclaim the ascending channel’s midpoint resistance. A successful breakout could restore upward momentum and potentially push the BNB price toward $809.

With regulatory uncertainty intensifying and ETF demand strengthening, traders are closely monitoring whether BNB can defend its critical support levels.
