BTS Jimin had everyone talking during the 2019 Billboard Music Awards not only for his pink hair but for the sunglasses he was wearing on stage. Recently, it has been revealed that South Korean eyewear brand Gentle Monster gifted the K-Pop star several custom-made sunglasses.
The accessory made Jimin a trending topic worldwide. After he was spotted wearing them, the sunglasses from the brand, the Woogie 02(P) model, were immediately sold out in a number of countries. It is also worth noting that the sunglasses Jimin wore during the BMAs cost $280.
This particular pair of sunglasses sold out in stores in South Korea, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore, Thailand, Afghanistan, the United Kingdom, and even the United States. The remaining countries that still have them are naturally seeing a dramatic increase in sales. Although the model is still available in other lens colors, fans will have to wait for the pink version Jimin wore to be back on shelves sometime soon.
Shortly afterward, Gentle Monster shared a photo of the K-Pop idol wearing their sunglasses on their Twitter account and congratulated them for their double win at the awards show.
Gentle Monster recently gave Jimin six pairs of custom sunglasses, adding up to the collection of sunglasses he already owns from the brand. The brand even documents the occasions when Jimin was spotted wearing their sunglasses on their Twitter account as well. As to what pairs of sunglasses he was given to be exact: Woogie 02 (Y) or the yellow lens version of the pink model, the King 01 with pink lenses, the Dreamer 17 01, two pairs of Doublebread 02, and the Cold C1.
Jimin’s fashion sense also landed him a spot as one of the Best Dressed Men of the Week in GQ magazine. He is also the only Asian to be included in the same list as well. He was also included in The Business of Fashion - Class of 2019.
Fans who are interested will just have to see if Gentle Monster decides to release permanent versions of the sunglasses they gifted Jimin.
