BTS is really unstoppable as its popularity just keeps expanding outside of South Korea. The group released its newest album titled “Map of the Soul: 7” in February and it was reported that this gave them a new award in the United Kingdom.
BTS’s silver achievement in the U.K.
It was belatedly reported that BTS was honored in the U.K. after “MOTS: 7” was certified silver by the music industry in the region. This is really a big honor for the boy band because one of the biggest organizations in the territory’s music industry gave them the award.
BTS was certified silver after its latest album has reached 60,000 equivalent units with all sales and streaming equivalents. This was also certified by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).
What makes it even more special is the fact that it is rare for albums to be certified silver in the U.K. and if it happens, it is usually for the English musicians but BTS still made it. In fact, very few songs in foreign languages managed to get any kinds of certifications in the English music industry, so this is really a feat for the group.
As per Forbes, BTS’ “Map of the Soul” 7 is the first Korean-language album that was able to snatch silver in the region. The group’s “Love Yourself: Answer” and “Map of the Soul: Persona” are the other albums of the band that were able to achieve big in the U.K.
Suga’s collab single with IU released!
Meanwhile, the much-awaited collaboration between BTS Suga and IU is already out. IU’s “Eight” single that features Suga has been released yesterday evening. The two teamed up by co-writing the song piece and the BTS member also stood as its producer. Of course, BTS’ Suga also sang in IU’s new song.
“As musicians of the same age, the two singers could relate to one another and create their own unique synergy in the song,” EDAM Entertainment, IU’s agency said in a statement. “Eight” follows IU’s 2019 EP ‘Love Poem.’
BTS Suga and IU’s collaboration song offers a pop-rock band sound that was perfected by the songstress’ amazing vocals and idol singer’s rapping chops.
