BTS is on a roll again, and before the month of August ends, the South Korean boy group made another history that further enhance its hall of achievements. The septets’ resume is already very impressive at this point, and they just continue to make it more spectacular by adding more to the list.

This week, the group made news after topping Billboard’s Hot 100 list. As they placed no. 1 with their first full English song called “Dynamite,” they have become the first-ever Korean act to achieve such feat.
On Aug. 31, Billboard announced that BTS, which consists of seven members - RM, Jungkook, V, Jimin, Jin, J-Hope, and Suga, just made a grand debut at no. 1 in the said music chart. They are the first Korean to do so as the worldwide hit Psy’s “Gangnam Style” only managed to secure the no. 2 spot at the height of its popularity.
As per Billboard, the Hot 100 chart is a list of popular songs in the U.S. The is being updated every week, and the ranking is determined by combining music sales data, the number of radio broadcasts, streaming performance.
Based on the data from Nielsen Music/MRC, BTS’ "Dynamite" recorded 33.9 million streams, 11.6 million radio airplay and sold 300,000 in the first week of its release. This is the group’s statistics in the week ending Aug. 30.
BTS’ "Dynamite" is the 1,109th single to place no. 1 in the Hot 100 in its 62-year history. The group’s “ON” made it to this music chart but was only at no. 4 in February.

The boy group also performed at the MTV Video Music Awards. They also received the Best Pop award for their “ON” single and beat out the Jonas Brothers, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga, and Taylor Swift.
Finally, BTS shared what they think about “Dynamite,” their first English song. In an interview with MTV, RM said: “It's a really fun disco-pop track about doing what we can do, even when things don't work out as planned."
