Bandits hope weather doesn’t impact April 21st event at Motor Mile

(Blooming Prairie, MN April 2018), April 11, 2018 -- Mother Nature has wreaked havoc on the season’s first two events, with both being rescheduled and only the season opener at Mobile actually completed.

“Not ideal at all,” Bandit General Manager Jason Johnson said.  “But it is what it is.  Unfortunately, you can’t control the weather.”

The season’s now-second event at Motor Mile Speedway in Fairlawn, Virginia, features Bandits itching to get back at it.

“I can’t wait,” Craig Kruckeberg (#55) said.  “We haven’t been racing for a few weeks now and it’s driving me crazy!”

Tickets for the April 21^st event are available online.

“It’ll be great to get out there in front of our fans,” Johnson said.  “It’s a great track with a lot of history.”

With one race in the books, Tommy Boileau (#16) is on top of the standings, followed closely by Ricky Rude (#14), Cody Slowinski (#63) and Allen Boles (#3).  Boles’ feature race win at Mobile was the first of his Bandit career.

“I came close to some feature wins last year, but it’s awesome to finally capture first,” Boles said.

The Jupiter Motorsports veteran will look to continue his good fortune in Fairlawn, where the Bandits are racing for the first time.

“The Motor Mile is a first-class facility with amenities second-to-none,” Bandit Technical Director Brian Madsen said.  “Its (4/10) size should give Bandit fans a perfect mix of high speeds as well as the close, side-by-side racing that they’ve come to expect.”

The event at the Motor Mile also features the Fan Series Truck Show, which starts at 10 a.m.

“It’s a free work truck show in which anyone can enter,” Minimizer Director of Marketing Steve Hansen said.  “No politics or trophies, just fun.  People can come hang out and have a great time.”
