The American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on Ethics and Professional Responsibility, on which Rubin will now serve, not only drafts the Model Rules of Professional Conduct that govern lawyers’ responsibilities to the law, their clients, and the courts, but also issues opinions interpreting the rules.
“Ethics and professionalism are the hallmark of exceptional legal representation. To have one of our own lawyers be recognized and included in such an esteemed group of legal professionals is a reflection on what an exceptional lawyer and law partner Mike Rubin is,” said Rudy Aguilar, Managing Member of McGlinchey Stafford. “We congratulate Mike on this honor and commend him for the important and meaningful work he will do as a member of this committee. His efforts will benefit every lawyer and every client in the country.”
Rubin, who heads McGlinchey Stafford’s national appellate team, has a longstanding involvement in the field of professional responsibility. He has taught courses on the subject at both LSU Law School and Tulane Law School, his many publications on the subject are used in law schools and CLE seminars around the country, and he has given literally scores of presentations about this topic from the West Coast to the Gulf Coast to the East Coast, as well as in Canada and England.
