Using celebrities to unveil new titles or to confirm the existence of upcoming video games has been something of a trend in recent years. Next up to the batting plate is Trevor Noah, the South African host of the comedy talk show program The Daily Show. He will be responsible for pulling the curtains to reveal Battlefield V. At least, this has been the implications of the teasers he has been putting out, so far.
The first sign that Battlefield V is going to be revealed is the Tweet that Noah sent using his official Twitter account. It features a short clip of him listing the things that he considers himself as (he considers himself a gamer, by the way) and a caption that supposedly confirms rumors with regards to him hosting the event revealing the next game in the FPS franchise.
“#ad The rumors are true (rumors that I started, but still...) I will be hosting the @Battlefield Live Reveal on Wed, May 23rd. Catch it streaming live on the #Battlefield YouTube. V EXCITING!” the Tweet reads.
That last part is particularly worth taking into consideration since the “V” could be a hint of the upcoming game’s title. It would just be fitting if it’s the fifth numbered game in the franchise. Then again, a new Tweet was sent out shortly after Noah’s post from the official Battlefield account, which confirms the theory, so that’s that.
With regards to what the game will feature, many have speculated that a Battle Royale mode will be included and that it will be set in World War II. If so, having 100 players try to kill each other until only one remain might be a tad awkward considering the setting. It could also be a team-based Battle Royale, which would make a lot more sense.
