Following Ben Affleck’s split from Lindsay Shookus, the “Batman” actor seems to have lost control of himself and succumbed to his alcoholism once again. The “Gone Girl” star had apparently been drinking for days and didn’t even manage to shower during his relapse. Fortunately, Jennifer Garner was there to pick Affleck up and get him to rehab, People reported.
Even though Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are going through a divorce case at the moment, the “Alias” alum has always got “The Town” actor’s back. And she exhibited this once again when she picked up the pieces left by her ex-partner.
Jennifer Garner has always been supportive of Ben Affleck and has encouraged him to work on himself, to keep fighting the addiction that has been consuming him for years. For his part, the “Argo” actor has been distancing himself from the substance as he wants to be the best father for his three kids with Garner.
But after Ben Affleck and Lindsay Shookus decided their relationship wasn’t working, the actor took refuge in the bottle yet again. After hearing that Affleck had relapsed, Jennifer Garner went to his home at Pacific Palisades to take him to rehab. The “Elektra” actress didn’t go alone, however, and supposedly brought with her an addiction therapist.
Along with the specialist, Jennifer Garner reportedly conducted an intervention for Ben Affleck in his house. And after its conclusion, the “13 Going on 30” whisked the actor away and brought him to The Canyon Treatment Center at Peace Park in Malibu.
According to an employee of the center, a 30-day stay at the facility costs around $130,000. What’s more, there are no more than 16 patients that are housed in it, with each individual given one-on-one attention by its staff and experts, Hollywood Life reported. So Jennifer Garner bringing Ben Affleck to the center is a testament to the degree of help that the actor needs.
It can be recalled that Jennifer Garner postponed her divorce case with Ben Affleck, saying that she wants the “Good Will Hunting” star to work on his sobriety before the proceedings could move forward. The "Miracles from Heaven” star even begged paparazzi to have some “compassion” for Affleck after they flocked to his house when they got wind of the incident.
During the brief exchange, one photographer asked Jennifer Garner if Ben Affleck was alright. The “Peppermint” actress responded with a “Yeah” but didn’t elaborate on how severe Affleck’s relapse was.
