Best Buy is a retailer that is known for selling consumer electronic products such as mobile phones and television sets. Now it is expanding its business to include beauty gadgets, patio furniture, and e-transportation products such as e-bikes.
Best Buy will be adding the said new items in its stores, and some shoppers may be surprised to see them while shopping. This is because the retailer usually only sells electronics on its physical outlets and website.
CNBC reported that the American consumer electronics retailer headquartered in Richfield, Minnesota announced on Friday that it started to release around 100 types of skincare devices like facial steamers and personal microdermabrasion tools at its 300 stores across the U.S. and on its website.
The company is said to be expanding further by adding more categories to its product lineup. Furniture and fitness categories are now available after seeing how these products became popular and grown during the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the height of the pandemic, Best Buy was said to have increased sales of kitchen appliances and computer monitors as people set up their offices at home. Now, it is introducing beauty, furniture, and e-transportation items to further boost its sales and expand its product offering as well.
Moreover, Best Buy is extending its reach beyond indoor living with the addition of electric transportation, health and wellness items, and outdoor living products. As per Retail Dive, the retailer is now selling skincare technology from well-known brands - PMD Beauty, Vanity Planet, Foreo, and more.
There are also gadgets for LED light therapy, and the outdoor furniture brand, Yardbird, has been introduced and is now on sale in its 300 shop outlets. Customers will also find electric bikes, scooters, and mopeds in the stores soon, as these will be added in the next 18 months.
Finally, customers do not have to look for repair shops for their e-transportation units because Best Buy is also piloting a repair service for these products. Then again, this will initially be offered in select locations for now. Shoppers can expect more new items to arrive as part of the company’s expansion scheme.
