“Better Call Saul” season 5 is almost complete as its showrunner Peter Gould recently shared that they are close to wrapping up filming for the whole season. The premiere for the fifth installment is actually late since it will be more than a year since season 4 aired when the show is released.
Also, when “Better Call Saul” season 5 arrives, it will feature an episode that Gould wants from the start. It’s the original scenario of what he thought the story should go since the beginning, as per Cinema Blend. Of course, Bob Odenkirk will still reprise his role as Jimmy McGill, who is slowly becoming Saul Goodman.
What will happen in the next installment?
Gould explained they know which direction the story should go, but they allowed the characters and their circumstances to lead the plot, so they deviated from their original plan. But now, they will stir the story back on track to get the outcome that they want from the beginning and “Better Call Saul” season 5 will slowly show the final evolution of Jimmy into his Saul Goodman character which is the man who the audience first saw in the “Breaking Bad” series.
In summary, “Better Call Saul” season 5 will be about the protagonist’s transformation to his Saul Goodman persona. Then again, this is not a good thing since it means he is turning bad, and this will ruin Jimmy’s relationship with Kim Wexler played by Rhea Seehorn, and he could lose her forever.
“When Kim goes away that’s probably a kind of a bigger and deeper schism to tie him, where he cannot be Jimmy anymore,” Odenkirk told The Wrap. “It will be interesting to see, I don’t know how we get there.”
Release date
“Better Call Saul” season 5 has been scheduled for release in 2020 according to AMC President, Sarah Barnett. It is possible that this is the penultimate season as Peter Gould previously said that they are almost at the end of the series. Meanwhile, the exact date remained unknown until now, but it could be announced soon since filming is nearly over.
