“Better Call Saul” season 6 has been confirmed as the final installment of the drama series. There is no new announcement about its renewal, but AMC and the show’s executive producers already revealed in January that there is a sixth season.
Final production of the drama
It was also disclosed that this is the last because from the start, they have been saying that they don’t want to go over the number of seasons that “Breaking Bad” had when it concluded. Thus the show is ending with just the same number.
Co-creator Peter Gould said that the writing team spent five years creating the characters and giving them personalities to fit in the plot of “Better Call Saul.” With that, they were able to introduce Jimmy McGill, Kim Wexler, Nacho, Gus Fring, and more. Now they are at the end, and the story will soon reach the climax soon.
On renewing the show, AMC Networks Entertainment Group president Sarah Barnett said that it is always a good decision. “Greenlighting a prequel to one of the most iconic series in television history is one of the boldest swings that AMC has ever taken,” Deadline quoted has as saying.
She added, “Thanks to the creative genius of Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould, it has also been one of the most rewarding. It has been an absolute joy to collaborate with the extraordinarily talented team on ‘Better Call Saul.’”
What to expect in the finale
As per Tech Radar, “Better Call Saul” season 6 will offer 13 episodes instead of the usual 10 to wrap up everything nicely. It will pick up from the time when Jimmy got Lalo out of prison after he collected his bail money - with so much difficulty.
While it has been reported before the fifth season aired that Jimmy will transform to his “Breaking Bad” Saul Goodman’s character, the finale seemed to have shown him going back to his unsure Jimmy McGill persona. Bob Odenkirk, who plays Jimmy/Saul, previously disclosed that Jimmy is in a vulnerable place, and he is frightened, so it looks like that he is not becoming Saul but reverting to his weak self instead.
“Better Call Saul” season 6 may give the viewers a surprising twist. However, it is yet to be seen if it will have a happy or heartwrenching ending.
