New York’s Premier Social Event Celebrating Pets and the People Who Love Them
Dogs (and their Humans) Decked Out for the Formal Affair on the Red Carpet are a Unique Annual New York Tradition Celebrating Animal Welfare
NEW YORK, May 11, 2017 -- Bideawee, a leading pet welfare organization serving metropolitan New York and Long Island, will host its Annual Bideawee Ball on Monday, May 22, 2017 at The Pierre Hotel in New York City from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. Jeffrey Toobin, New York Times bestselling author and CNN legal analyst, will serve as the 2017 host of the gala and 13-year old Bideawee volunteer Casey Galishoff, who sponsored the rescue of 41 dogs, will be a special Junior Honoree.
The Bideawee Ball is a festive, dog-friendly annual gala attended by more than 400 pet lovers, philanthropists, business/community leaders and celebrities in celebration of the lives of formerly homeless pets and the people who love them. The black-tie event features a red carpet-like walkway for photos of dogs in their formal attire, followed by cocktails, seated dinner, dancing, and awards to those who have made a difference in the lives of pets.
The Bideawee Ball will be held at The Pierre from 6:00 to 10:00 pm. A Silent Auction and Live Auction of special and unique offerings will be conducted. General Seating Tickets are $500.00; Junior Tickets (for those 35 and under) are available for $350.00; Canine Companion Tickets are $50.00. Cocktail Reception Tickets are available for $150 and Canine Companion - Cocktail Reception for $25.
Items offered at the Silent Auction and Live Auction will include designer collections and accessories, theater and sporting event tickets, private home escapes, unique doggie gifts and treats, as well as one of kind behind the scenes private excursions at notable New York City venues.
Bideawee is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 humane animal organization whose mission is to be Greater New York’s leader in rescuing, caring for, and placing homeless cats and dogs with people who love them. 100% of Bideawee’s funding comes from private sources.
The evening will be hosted by Jeffrey Toobin, the New York Times best-selling author, staff writer for The New Yorker, senior analyst for CNN, and one of the most recognized and admired legal journalists in the country.
Bideawee Honorees are individuals recognized for their contributions to Bideawee and their support for programs that help homeless pets find forever homes. The 2017 Bideawee Honorees are:
- Honoree Louis Vigorito of Sabey IGM Construction for his support for animal welfare issues
- Lifetime Achievement Award Honoree Mary M. Luria, Bideawee’s board chair emeritus who has provided extensive pro bono legal counsel to Bideawee for over 20 years
- Junior Honoree Casey Galishoff, an eighth grader from New York City who sponsored a Bideawee rescue of 41 dogs
- Cocktail Reception Honorees Devin Shanahan and Joseph Sorbera III, Co-chairs of Bideawee’s Young Professional Committee
