In a few weeks, “Big Brother 21” is set to premiere in time for the summer. However, the cast of new houseguests will remain a mystery, at least, in the next several days. That does not stop the fans from speculating, though, that this season could have an all-newbie cast.
Earlier this week, it was announced that former houseguest Jeff Schroeder will be back to do the pre-season interviews. This means he will be officially presenting the cast of “Big Brother 21” on Monday, June 17, at 11 a.m. ET through the live feed that is available for subscribers of CBS All Access.

Meanwhile, a well-followed Twitter fan page for CBS’s reality show launched a poll on what the fans think is going to be the composition of “Big Brother 21” houseguests. Most of them, or 52 percent of over 14,100 votes, believe that they would be watching an all-new cast this summer. The other half of the votes are almost tied between an “all vets” (25 percent) and a “mix of vets and newbies” (23 percent) cast.
By this time, a slew of spoilers and speculations have been circulating online and most of them suggest that “Big Brother 21” will have several returning houseguests. One of the widely shared rumors came from Brent Wolgamott of Rob Has a Podcast who tweeted, “So....I rarely tweet things like this, but I’m going to stick my neck out and give you all some tea. #BB21....expect 8 returning vets.”
If the above rumor would tally with the actual cast, that means “Big Brother 21” could be a mixed season instead of another all-stars or all-newbies installment. A few days later, however, the reality show’s casting director Robyn Kass seemed to downplay the online spoilers. “Come on fake spoiler accounts.... you're usually more creative than this. #yawn,” Kass tweeted.
Julie Chen returns to host “Big Brother 21” that will officially premiere with a two-part premiere starting on Tuesday, June 25, at 8 p.m. ET and on Wednesday, June 26 on CBS. The houseguest who will be the last to stay will be rewarded with $500,000.
