BitPay, a global bitcoin payment service provider founded in 2011, has recently announced changes in its “pricing plans”.
“As we continue to improve our platform, we will no longer be offering our "unlimited" starter plan to new merchants”, said BitPay in a blog post.
It added that the new Starter Plan will remain free for up to $1000 daily and 30 transactions per month, and beyond 30 transactions a month, a 1 percent fee will be applied to the additional transactions. Starting October 1, merchants on the Starter plan will receive free weekly settlements in US Dollars via ACH, or Euros via SEPA transfer.
The Business Plan will be moving to a usage-based 1% plan, from a fixed, $300 monthly subscription. The new plan will lower the risk of experimenting with bitcoin acceptance for mid-sized businesses, while enabling the Bitpay team to better focus on Business plan merchants.
Moreover, there is no change for merchants on Enterprise plan. The Enterprise merchants will continue to get first access to new features along with priority service and support.
