Studio Pierrot revealed a promo image where a ripped Asta is seen with black mass around his right arm that extends to form a black wing. Avid fans of the franchise know too well that this is the first look on Asta’s demon form happening in “Black Clover” episode 63. In the translated text of Pierrot’s tweet (via ComicBook), the production company teases, “Look forward to Asta’s astonishing battle as he transforms into a strange appearance.”
Asta is the franchise’s main protagonist who possesses a five leaf grimoire but he mysteriously has no magic abilities. In the story, some characters thought he comes from a bloodline of exceptional beings. However, “Black Clover” episode 63 will explain why this quality of Asta makes him the perfect vessel for the Anti Magic power.
Just as when Asta is about to be defeated by Ladros, the Witch Queen who healed Asta by infusing him with her blood believes the main protagonist has yet to manifest his real potential. This is when Asta’s grimoire will start producing black mass, thus, producing his demon form in “Black Clover” episode 63.
Meanwhile, “Black Clover” episode 63 will also answer the question about Asta’s heritage. The Witch Queen will conclude that he is not a descendant of anyone special. In fact, she will declare that Asta is not special at all.
