“Black Clover” episode 66 will be another so-called filler installment due to the fact that no major fights or battle sequence are going to happen. However, it is still important to watch it because it will help fans learn more about future missions, specifically related to the Eye of the Midnight Sun.
At this point in the anime series, fans have reached the end of the Witches’ Forest arc. Prior to “Black Clover” episode 66, the Witch Queen introduced the Black Bulls to the magic stone which she said is what the Eye of the Midnight Sun is after.
Furthermore, the Witch Queen explained to Asta and the other Black Bulls that the main magical powers the Midnight Sun has been using were previously controlled by the Elves. For one, the Elves are the only ones that can use the Third Eye that is currently held by the rogue mages. Even Asta’s swords that have Anti Magic-based powers were previously controlled by the Elves. However, the Black Bulls are still puzzled to the Midnight Sun’s real goal and what they are after. The video teaser suggests that “Black Clover” episode 66 could provide an answer.
Meanwhile, “Black Clover” episode 66 will be the second installment to feature an all-new opening theme. ComicBook observed that, as usual, the new theme offers clues of the upcoming ordeals the Black Bulls have to face.
The same report points out that the opening theme that fans can check out in “Black Clover” episode 66 already previews another major storyline called the Royal Knights arc. As mentioned, not much action will happen in the upcoming weeks.
However, in the episodes following “Black Clover” episode 66, fans can expect things to escalate once more. Based on the manga series, this is also the part that covers the raid of the Midnight Sun’s headquarters, specifically the White Night Eye base.
In the said arc, the Clover Kingdom’s Magic Knights’ battle with elf Licht intensifies. And that explains why, despite the lack of action-packed fights, “Black Clover” episode 66 is still an important installment. It will be released on Tuesday, Jan. 15.
