'Black Clover' episode 96 release date, spoilers: Yami fights elf-possessed Charlotte

The anime series is about to feature a series of fights between the Magic Knights and their fellow humans who, unfortunately, had their bodies used as vessels for reincarnated elves. Teasers for “Black Clover” episode 96 reveal that the captains two Magic Knight squads are about to face in an exciting battle.

To recap, the anime fans have mourned the death of the Wizard King, Julius Novachrono, and was provided informative flashback scenes of where the rivalry of humans and elves peaked. A young Licht actually believed that humans and elves could work together and even got married to human Tetia. But everything went south on their wedding day when Light magic rained down on elves killing the entire race. But it turned out that Patolli managed to reincarnate himself in the body of William Vangeance and has been introducing himself as Licht. This tale continues in “Black Clover” episode 96.

The brief preview of “Black Clover” episode 96 reveals it is titled “The Black Bulls Captain vs. the Crimson Wild Rose.” It refers to a fight sequence between Black Bulls captain Yami and Blue Rose captain Charlotte. However, the latter is actually possessed by an elf named Charla.

Yami and Charla’s fight is not long, but it offers a chance for viewers to understand how the elf-possessed Magic Knights are going to fight in the upcoming episodes. Considering the title of “Black Clover” episode 96, fans will most likely witness that the possessed Charlotte uses her favorite magic spell and briars. However, Yami will be able to feel right away that Charlotte exudes a different kind of mana or energy.

Sol arrives in the middle of Yami and Charlotte’s fight and is confused why the latter is attacking the Black Bulls captain. Sol addresses Charlotte like a sister, but it will be Charla who responds to her. Yami instructs Sol to leave the fight to him and just bring the orb that contains Julius to safety.

After realizing that she cannot activate her own spell within Charlotte’s mana zone, Sol finally adheres to Yami’s requests. Meanwhile, the Black Bulls captain declares that for a long time he already recognized the real power of Charlotte. The challenge now is to defeat Charla without seriously injuring or killing Charlotte’s body. “Black Clover” episode 96 will be released on Tuesday, Aug. 13.
