‘Blindspot’ season 2’s episode 20, titled “In Words, Drown I,” is set to feature mixed martial artist Ronda Rousey as an important Sandstorm asset named Devon. The promo hinted that Devon will get into a fight with Jane in the action-packed episode. Meanwhile, Weller and his team will be determined to help Zapata out after she is sent to jail.
The synopsis for “In Words, Drown I” posted on TV Guide reads, “Zapata's (Audrey Esparza) transgressions catch up to her, sending her to jail alongside a powerful Sandstorm asset named Devon (guest star Ronda Rousey). As a result, Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) and the team go to exceptional lengths to help out Zapata.”
The upcoming episode is set to feature popular American mixed martial artist Ronda Rousey as the Sandstorm asset Devon. The former UFC bantamweight champion is seen decked in a bright orange prison outfit as she battles it out with Jaimie Alexander’s Jane in the new promo. It seems that Rousey’s introduction into the series will be an action-packed one.
According to MMA Junkie, Rousey was enthusiastic about her experience on the filming set and admitted that she would like to return for more. She told TMZ, "Blindspot was awesome. I really loved it. I hope I get to go back."
The 30-year old posted a sneak peek of her fight scene with Alexander on Instagram last April 27. She also recently announced her engagement to UFC Heavyweight Travis Brown.
Rousey was the first American woman to earn an Olympic medal in judo, which she procured at the 2008 Summer Olympics held in Beijing. She got her first feature film role in 2014’s ‘The Expendables 3’ directed by Patrick Hughes and went on to work in various film and television series such as James Wan’s ‘Furious 7’ and Doug Ellin’s ‘Entourage.’
‘Blindspot’ season 2’s episode 20, titled “In Words, Drown I,” is scheduled to air on NBC on May 3, 2017. It will be followed by episode 21, titled “Mom,” scheduled to be released on May 10.
