Among the struggles that people have when trying to live a healthier lifestyle is forming a habit. And forming a habit is remarkably difficult, especially if it involves constant physical activities.
The people behind the creation of Lympo, a blockchain-based app, realized this, so it developed a platform that would incentivize people to work out. The app provides users with fitness goals for them to accomplish, and then rewards them for completing these challenges. The reward comes in the form of crypto tokens called LYM tokens, which will be transferred directly to their digital fitness wallets.
LYM tokens can be exchanged for products and services that will further foster healthy habits of app users. The app’s marketplace already has more than 500 fitness instructors, who can guide users through their health journey and provide insights into the best workout regime for them, Cointelegraph reported.
In a recent announcement, Lympo said it has shaken hands with NBA team Dallas Mavericks, with the partnership trying to introduce how users can use their hard-earned tokens to pay for stadium tickets. The partnership is reported to be a three-year contract, which includes the Mavericks wearing the Lympo logo on their uniform during practice.
“The Mavericks found clear alignment with Lympo’s mission to create a healthier world by using the latest technology to encourage fitness and healthy living in a whole new way,” said Mark Cuban, a prominent investor and owner of the Dallas Mavericks team. He added that the platform will enable fans to earn free admission and products if they complete the Mavericks fitness challenges found within the Lympo app.
Just last month, Lympo brought in Caroline Wozniacki as a global ambassador for the company. Wozniacki is a Danish tennis superstar who currently sits in the number two spot in the global rankings of the sport.
The 27-year-old is also the first female athlete to promote a blockchain product, according to the company. Wozniacki believes that the Lympo app can greatly motivate people to exercise and live a healthy lifestyle.
With the involvement of these star athletes and distinguished investors in the sports industry, Lympo believes that the app is proving attractive to the sports industry. This is despite the fact that the finishing touches on Lympo have yet to be added in time for its upcoming launch this autumn.
