‘Bones’ season 12’s episode 6, titled “The Final Chapter: The Flaw in the Saw,” is set to follow Booth and Brennan as they tackle the case of a dismembered golfer-turned-lumberjack. Their investigation leads them to the Lumber Sports Regional Championships, where they search for some answers connected to the murder. Meanwhile, Hodgins attempts to prove Zack’s innocence through new pieces of evidence.
The synopsis for “The Final Chapter: The Flaw in the Saw” posted on TV Guide reads, “A dismembered body of a well-known golfer who became a lumberjack takes the team to the Lumber Sports Regional Championships, where they learn about an affair with a married rival that could have led to her murder. Meanwhile, Hodgins (TJ Thyne) looks for evidence that could prove Zack's (Eric Millegan) innocence.”
It seems that the popular golfer-turned-lumberjack Phyllis Paul may have been harboring secrets leading to the eventual killing. Booth and Brennan discover important information leading up to the murder while at the lumberjack competition, including an affair with a married rival.
The promo for episode 6 opens to Brennan attempting to tell Booth a lumberjack joke as they head to the competition. Brennan asks her husband, “What did the math teacher say to the lumberjack? It’s also simple geometry.” When they arrive at the competition to scout out a specific suspect, Booth warns Brennan that they should wait until their target puts down the electric saw before they go talk to her.
It also seems that Booth is facing problems with his marriage with Brennan and will eventually go on an informal dinner-slash-therapy session with psychologist and chef Gordon Wyatt (Stephen Fry). During an interview with TV Line, co-showrunner Michael Peterson hinted, “We do a little bit of food, a little bit of therapy.”
Meanwhile, Hodgins is set on proving Zack Addy’s innocence by doing what he does best. He will be employing scientific methods in secretly analyzing bacteria on the bone of a previous victim.
‘Bones’ season 12’s episode 6, titled “The Final Chapter: The Flaw in the Saw,” is scheduled to air on Fox on February 7, 2017. It will be followed by episode 7, titled "The Scare in the Score," scheduled for February 14.
