‘Boruto’ Episode 72 Air Date, Spoilers: Mitsuki’s Absence Leads to More Mysterious Incidents; Tsunade Returns

Based on the events in the previous episode, fans can now tell that the anime series has finally entered the Mitsuki arc. Next episode, Mitsuki’s sudden absence will lead to more bizarre incidents that need to be investigated. Meanwhile, the much-awaited return of Tsunade Senju is also happening in “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 72.

In episode 71, Mitsuki received a letter from an unknown sender. The contents of the letter made Mitsuki question his choices in life and, the next thing fans knew, he already left Konohagakure. However, his friends will only notice he is missing in “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 72.

The preview for “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 72 shows that the investigation to find Mitsuki begins. At one point, Ino, Naruto, and others are seen in the hospital with a badly hurt guard. The following scene confirms that Ino will be reading the injured guard’s mind in order to find out who attacked them. It is very likely, however, that it was Mitsuki who hurt the guards with a Raiton or Lightning Release.

While the older ninjas do their part, the missing genin’s teammates, Boruto and Sarada, will also try to connect the dots in “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 72. In the trailer, Sarada and Boruto appear to visit Mitsuki’s living place. Surprisingly, both of them did not know about the place before Mitsuki went missing.

Sarada will also realize that they did not bother asking Mitsuki about his parents or the village he originated from. This leads to Sarada’s disappointment over how they treated their now missing teammate. Meanwhile, Boruto echoes her sentiment in “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 72.

The mysterious disappearance of Mitsuki is expected to lead to the appearance of the Ryuchi Cave in “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 72. It can be recalled that Mitsuki is one of the individuals that can summon the place and, after all, this could be where Mitsuki went.

As expected, Tsunade is making her return to Konohagakure. Whatever brought Tsunade to meet with Naruto is expected to be one of the highlights in “Boruto: Naruto Next Generations” episode 72 — titled "Mitsuki's Will" — airing on Sept. 6.
