Vote counting of the UK referendum is done with and it’s a Brexit.
In the final result, the “Leave” campaign secured 51.9 percent supports while the “Remain” camp secured 48.1 percent. Considering the closeness in the race this is quite a large margin. The “Leave” camp secured 1.22 million more votes than the “Remain” camp. Considering the event, turnout was relatively low at 72.09 percent.
- London voted in favor of the stay by 59.9 percent.
- 62 percent in Scotland voted to stay inside the European Union.
- Northern Ireland voted 55.7 percent in favor of the “Remain”.
- North East backed the out campaign with 58 percent voting in favor.
- North West backed the out campaign with 53.7 percent voting in favor.
- Yorks and Humber chose the out campaign with 57.7 percent voting in favor.
- West Midlands supported the “Leave” with 59.3 percent support.
- East Midlands supported the “Leave” with 58.5 percent support.
- Wales came out in favor of the out campaign with 52.5 percent support.
- South West and East both supported exit with 52.6 and 51.8 percent voting in favor.
- Eastern also favored the exit with 56.5 percent support.
Except for London, the whole of Britain supported the exit. Without the Scots and Irish, it would have been a much worse performance for the “Remain” camp.
