SAN FRANCISCO, Dec. 05, 2017 -- Bugcrowd, the leader in crowdsourced security, today announced the company has bolstered its executive team and expanded its reach across the globe. In the fourth quarter, the company welcomed Bill Odell as chief marketing officer and Dan Lascell as vice president and general counsel. Bugcrowd also established offices in Boston and London with plans for a Sydney office in early 2018. This comes on the cusp of another year of growth for the company, which welcomed Ashish Gupta as CEO in the third quarter, ran nearly double the number of crowdsourced security programs and more than doubled the amount paid to our crowd over the previous year.
“Security is increasingly becoming a Board Room discussion and crowdsourcing cybersecurity is the only viable answer to address the skills shortage at companies who have ever increasing attack surfaces,” said Ashish Gupta, CEO, Bugcrowd. “As we round out our fifth consecutive year of growth with record adoption across verticals, we felt it was necessary to expand our executive team and increase our global reach. Bill and Dan bring rich and proven experience in their respective areas and I am thrilled to welcome them to Bugcrowd’s executive team.”
As chief marketing officer, Bill Odell will oversee global marketing strategy to drive revenue and solidify Bugcrowd’s position as the market leader for crowdsourced security testing. Odell joins Bugcrowd from SonicWALL and Dell where he served as vice president of marketing. With more than 20 years of experience in enterprise technology, Odell’s background spans early and growth stage startups to large global organizations.
As general counsel, Dan Lascell will support Bugcrowd’s business objectives, providing counsel on corporate and legal affairs. Lascell brings more than 20 years of experience giving legal counsel for large and small technology companies. Prior to this role, Lascell was senior vice president of corporate development and general counsel for Appirio, and vice president and general counsel for AmberPoint.
