CBS News’ Nov. 2 listing for “The Takeout with Major Garrett” described continuing reaction to Rep. Haley Stevens’ endorsement of Republican Mike Rogers in Michigan’s Senate race, alongside candidates’ final appeals before the midterms.
Stevens endorsed Rogers two days before Michigan voters are due to elect a senator Tuesday, Nov. 3, as EconoTimes previously reported.
The Straits Times reported that more than half of Stevens’ staff left within hours of the Nov. 1 announcement, two days before Michigan voters choose a senator.
Stevens had pledged to support Abdul El-Sayed after losing the August Democratic primary. Michigan voters are scheduled to cast ballots Nov. 3.
Stevens said Abdul El-Sayed had told her he did not need her endorsement. Michigan voters are set to choose a senator Tuesday.
