CNBC’s Ran Neuner has shared his new cryptocurrency investments, choosing XRP, TON, and, notably, Solana. Highlighting each for its unique potential in the evolving crypto market, Neuner’s selections spotlight technological innovation and strategic market plays, reflecting broader trends.
Neuner's Strategic Crypto Picks and Their Potential
Neuner most likely chose Solana because of its high potential in the DeFi industry and its large meme scene, which provides cultural leverage to its technological advancement, as per U.Today. Solana is known for its quick and cost-effective operations, making it an excellent choice for developing scalable applications—especially when the network does not break down.
Arweave is a decentralized storage network that seeks to enable permanent data storage. It describes itself as a "collectively owned hard drive that never forgets." Arweave enables the permaweb, a permanent web that allows for the building of decentralized apps.
This technology not only ensures that data is accessible regardless of the original host's state, but it also maintains data integrity over time, which is crucial in today's digital world.
Neuner's interest in TON is presumably driven by its integration with Telegram, one of the world's largest chat services. TON is fully linked into the fabric of Telegram, with features like a native wallet, trading bots, and other integrated services, making it an unexpectedly strong choice with one of the largest ecosystems behind it.
Decentralized Networks Gain Traction
While Neuner favors SOL, AR, and TON, he observes divergent preferences among Crypto Twitter users for HBAR, ADA, and XRP. We can point to XRP's dismal performance, which might be seen unfavorably due to its -12% growth rate in an otherwise positive market.
Despite ADA's good fundamentals and positive performance in 2024, it is still less popular in his portfolio. He has not explained why, but his criticism of the ADA drew ADA defenders to the comments section.
