Portland, OR, Aug. 01, 2017 -- Cambia Health Solutions was founded 100 years ago in the Pacific Northwest. The company’s roots were established when a group of innovative loggers and their families pooled together funds to help each other with medical needs that arose due to injury or illness. To celebrate this milestone, the company has declared August as the “Month of Giving.” Employees are granted four hours of paid time off to volunteer at any non-profit organization focused on improving the health of local communities throughout Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah and Texas. Employees also have the opportunity to make a financial donation to support a charitable cause and the Cambia Health Foundation will match 50 percent of their contribution.
“Cambia was founded on the community-focused idea of neighbor helping neighbor. Giving back is a great way to honor our past and prepare for our future as an empathetic total health solutions company,” said Peggy Maguire, Senior Vice President, Corporate Accountability, Cambia Health Solutions. “We believe that there is no better way to celebrate our Centennial than by helping our neighbors.”
