The 140th China Import and Export Fair has added its first New Collection Gallery in Guangzhou, offering buyers a new venue to review launches and meet exhibitors.

The gallery is near the passage between Areas A and B. Exhibitors can present products, engage visitors through digital features and arrange buyer-supplier meetings there, according to the fair’s announcement. Organizers plan more than 700 New Collection events, and expect debuts to be 15% higher than at the previous session, a Canton Fair press conference said.

The broader program spans launches at exhibitor booths and livestreams, alongside theme releases and an online gallery. The fair says these formats are intended to raise the visibility of new products and help buyers connect with suppliers. Livestreams can carry tours, demonstrations and launches to international buyers following remotely. Zhu Yong, director-general of China Foreign Trade Centre, said organizers would continue developing smart exhibition halls and services to improve the experience for exhibitors and buyers.

China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) divides the session into three phases: advanced manufacturing through Oct. 19, quality home life from Oct. 23-27, and “better life” from Oct. 31-Nov. 4. The ministry says the previous session drew 314,000 overseas buyers from 220 countries and regions. The fair has been held in Guangzhou every spring and autumn since 1957, MOFCOM says.

For the 140th edition, MOFCOM lists 1.55 million square meters of exhibition space and more than 30,000 enterprises expected to participate. The ministry co-hosts the fair with the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, while China Foreign Trade Centre organizes it. Phase 2 is scheduled to begin Oct. 23; the three-phase calendar for the session sets it to run through Oct. 27.
