Capcom has been unsurprisingly mum on whether or not a “Devil May Cry 5” development is currently happening. But its silence cannot stop the slew of insider reports and information leaks that all point to the imminent release of the game.
Most recently, a post on Resetera (via Screen Rant) was picked up and will make fans of the video game franchise look forward to the coming months. The information originally came from The Palemoon of the DMC Discord server and shows that Capcom has registered a new domain to the web hosting company GMO Internet. The newly registered web domain is named “devilmaycry5.com.”
According to the same post, the supposed “Devil May Cry 5” website was registered exactly on May 18. Even though the website is not yet live, people can search for the domain name through WhoIs.com to view other available information and to, ultimately, prove its existence.
Apart from this week’s discovery, there have already been several notable claims trying to prove that “Devil May Cry 5” is in the pipeline.
Last month, people saw that the Austrian retailer Gameware accidentally listed “Devil May Cry 5” and even opened a pre-order page for the unannounced game for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 gamers.
Another very telling photo leaked through 4chan last week. The post contained an internal memo detailing Sony’s Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) press event this month. The document indicates that out of the 15 upcoming titles to be presented, Sony will showcase a demo of “Devil May Cry 5.”
People may doubt the credibility of the supposed Sony E3 2018 internal memo considering that it was uploaded and spread across 4chan. But the same document also shows that a trailer for “Resident Evil 2 Remake” as played on PSVR will be presented as well. Interestingly, The Palemoon also discovered that Capcom has updated the registration for the “Resident Evil 2” domain, which could be linked to the rumored remake.
