In October 2017, Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson made headlines when the two were spotted together going on a date in Los Angeles. While the duo has been quite reserved about where their relationship stands, they aren’t very private either.
Following that event, Dakota Johnson has been seen multiple times with Chris Martin as they went on several more dates together. Gossip media spotted the pair in Malibu, where they would sometimes go strolling on the beach or take a bite to eat in several restaurants in the city, E! News reported.
Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson even attended Ellen DeGeneres’s 60th birthday party in January where the two remained close to each other, laughing and holding hands as they mingled with the other guests. Moreover, Johnson was also photographed during a Coldplay concert where the “50 Shades of Grey” star was seen inside the stadium’s sound booth.
All of these are a clear indication that Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson are indeed dating, although they haven’t officially announced anything to the media just yet. The latest news regarding the pair is them having similar tattoos placed near their elbows.
The design is an infinity symbol with two Xs, the meaning of which is still privy between Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson although it may signify their boundless affection for each other. While this development doesn’t necessarily count as an official announcement that they are indeed a couple, getting identical tattoos placed in a similar location is a classic couple behavior.
Perhaps Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson don’t want to rush things, trying to feel each other’s characters and idiosyncrasies out and adjust accordingly. Whatever their reasons are, they remain private between the pair. Even Dakota’s own mother, Melanie Griffith, is being kept in the dark.
Although Dakota Johnson has yet to share some major details with her mother about her relationship with Chris Martin, Griffith said she adores the Coldplay frontman. The 61-year-old celebrity added that she respects her daughter’s decision to keep things under wraps for now.
