The S&P 500 rose 0.9% late Friday morning as Coherent led the index’s gainers, a partial rebound after technology shares drove the benchmark down 4.4% on Thursday.

At 11:51 a.m. ET (16:51 UTC) Friday, Nov. 6, Coherent shares had climbed 11.86%, the largest gain among S&P 500 stocks in the snapshot. Airbnb was up 11.20%, Vistra gained 10.19%, and Moderna and Advanced Micro Devices each rose 9.73%, filling the other four places among the five top gainers. The figures show intraday moves, not closing returns.

The Thursday decline followed a drop in U.S. stocks led by technology shares, as EconoTimes reported in its coverage of the 4.4% S&P 500 drop. By 1:55 p.m. ET Friday, Coherent shares were up nearly 14%, according to EconoTimes’ later report on the stock’s advance, extending the move beyond the 11:51 a.m. snapshot.
