HORSHAM, Pa., Jan. 28, 2016 -- Symphony Health Solutions, a provider of high-value market research, analytics and technology solutions for life science manufacturers, researchers, payers and providers, today announced that multiple members of the company’s consulting practice have been selected as presenters for the 2016 Pharmaceutical Management Science Association (PMSA) Annual Conference in Las Vegas this April. The PMSA Annual Conference is a forum for life science industry experts to network, exchange best practices, and learn about emerging trends in analytics for the pharmaceutical industry.
Symphony’s Ewa Kleczyk, PhD, Executive Director of Consulting and Services, and Derek Evans, Sr. Vice President and Commercial Effectiveness Practice Head, will present “Leveraging Secondary Physician and Patient Level Data to Predict Physician Attitudinal Segment Assignments”. Their presentation will provide an overview of Symphony’s proprietary Hybrid Segmentation solution which allows the projection of physician segments to a larger physician list by leveraging the attitudinal information, robustness of secondary data, and proprietary physician level prescribing propensities. Through use of a case study in the Oncology area, the presentation will review methodology steps needed to ensure that the “Hybrid” approach yields high accuracy prediction and consistency in assigning physicians into intended segments.
Christopher Casten, Managed Markets Principal at Symphony, will present “Do You Really Need to Contract with a Payer?” Payer contracting can be the most significant spend that manufacturers believe will drive brand access. But the lack of insight into the patient’s ability to ultimately receive the brand, even without a manufacturer/payer contract, can have significant financial impact on a brand’s revenue. This presentation will review an actual, historical study done in conjunction with a major, US biologic manufacturer to show the impact of benefit design and payer contracting on patients’ ability to fill their prescriptions.
In addition to the presentations, Symphony will exhibit several posters in the conference’s Poster Sessions:
- Alternative Methodologies of Measuring Medication Usage Amongst Chronically Ill patients with Idiosyncratic Treatment Plan
- Measuring Media Exposure with Health Behavior and Patient Pathing Metrics
- Launching an Oncology Brand – Get it Right Using Big Data
Poster authors and representatives from Symphony Health Solutions will be present throughout the conference to share insights into how data and analytics from Symphony’s IDV® (Integrated Dataverse) can answer key questions and facilitate critical commercial processes within sales, marketing, and managed markets.
Symphony Health Solutions is proud to continue a long-standing relationship with PMSA. During the 2015 Annual Conference, Michael Venters, Product Management Director at Symphony, delivered a presentation on Prescription Buy-Down Program Effectiveness. PMSA and Symphony also partnered throughout the summer of 2015 to offer a four-installment Data Training Webinar Series presented by Symphony Health’s Laura Jirele.
PMSA, focused this year on Game-Changing Analytics: The Odds Are in Your Favor, will be held April 17-20, 2016 at Planet Hollywood Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. For more information or to register for the PMSA 2016 Annual Conference, visit the website.
