Coty Inc. and Marni have inked a long-term beauty licensing deal, which was revealed on Tuesday, Feb. 6. The companies agreed to develop, produce, and distribute beauty products together for more than 10 years.
Solidifying its Presence in the Fragrance Sector
As per WWD News, through the deal, Coty is also shoring up its partnership with Marni's parent company, the OTB Group. In any case, this new contract with Marni comes after the Paris-based beauty and cosmetics firm secured fresh licenses from other luxury brands, including Gucci, Hugo Boss, Tiffany & Co., Davidoff, Calvin Klein, Jil Sander, Escada, Chloé, Joop, Marc Jacobs, Roberto Cavalli, and others.
Under the agreement, Coty will launch a beauty business with Marni, a well-known Italian fashion house. They will develop new products and start with fragrances, which will also be their first offerings. Lastly, this collaboration solidifies Coty's dedication to increasing its brand's presence in the luxury fragrance business.
First Fashion Offering Under the Deal
Coty's management said they are excited to start working with the Marni group and looking forward to jointly developing top-notch products that reflect the companies' style and values in beauty and life. They are planning to launch the first offerings in 2026.
"We are delighted to announce our new partnership with Marni, a brand known for its innovation, creativity, and unique youthful approach to luxury," Coty's chief executive officer, Sue Nabi, said in a press release. "Marni is highly recognized in the fashion industry, with particular brand strength in Asia, and Europe. This licensing agreement aligns with Coty's highly successful strategic direction of focusing on fashion-driven licenses with multi-category potential that resonate across key markets."
Marni's CEO, Barbara Calo, also commented, "The alliance with Coty, a pioneering force in the beauty industry, marks a pivotal moment in the evolution of Marni, in line with our commitment to offer a holistic brand experience. Through the introduction of fragrances and beauty products, that will seamlessly integrate into our brand universe, we're redefining the brand's boundaries, opening up new opportunities of affirmation for Marni."
