The blockchain and cryptocurrency industry saw some $184 million in disclosed capital over eight rounds in the week ending August 28th. Key areas where this money was especially focused were stablecoin-focused neobanking, infrastructure for onchain structured products, and crypto clearing and custody services. The biggest transactions show a deliberate effort to create the basic infrastructure of the digital asset scene.
Companies like RQD Clearing, which got $74 million for its crypto clearing and custody solutions, and Fasset, a stablecoin neobank that raised $68 million in a Series C round, saw a lot of money come in. With $17 million for tokenization, Hivemind Digital Group also helped to support the infrastructure theme; Entropy.io garnered $14 million for onchain equity perps. Strong investor interest in allowing more complex financial products on the blockchain is indicated by City Protocol's $11 million funding for its structured-products and vault infrastructure.
August saw a rise in strategic funding rounds, the highest monthly total for the year with roughly $1 billion. This points to a notable increase in focused, more significant investments into a chosen set of initiatives. The week's funding highlights a mix of themes, with a focus on market infrastructure, stablecoin use for real-world assets, and derivatives innovation—all signs of a growing digital asset scene.
