The year of 2019 could be a great one for fans avidly waiting for more details about “Cyberpunk 2077.” Many are hoping that new teasers, and possibly a release date announcement, will be featured in upcoming gaming trade shows and conventions.
CD Projekt Red, the company developing the video game, recently confirmed they will hit the stage of E3 2019 for “Cyberpunk 2077.” Unfortunately, that was all the developers can confirm at the moment.
Meanwhile, an array of new teasers and a new gameplay walkthrough video are some of the possible “Cyberpunk 2077” surprises in this year's E3. Some reports consider the possibility that CD Projekt Red could be ready to announce an official release date, or a release date window at the very least, in June.
The contents to be revealed in E3 might still be under wraps, but fans must note that CD Projekt Red certainly did not disappoint fans with their “Cyberpunk 2077” presentations in E3 2018. The developers unveiled the first look on the open world setting and fictional Night City where most of the actions are expected to happen. The main protagonist, named V, was also introduced. A couple of months later, a 48-minute “Cyberpunk 2077” gameplay reveal was also released. These teasers are the first ones to become available online about six years since the game’s announcement in 2012.
The lack of a release date window announcement from CD Projekt Red has not stopped supposed information leaks and speculations. The Turkish game publisher Bilkom reportedly accidentally revealed that the game is slated to launch this year. A couple of months later, Stockwatch.pl (translations via Reddit user dr4kun) also suggested that the role-playing game could be out by late 2019.
Other speculations based their release date predictions from CD Projekt Red’s statement in the previous years. For one, Wccftech pointed out that the developers previously said “Cyberpunk 2077” is already playable. This could mean that the developers have had major progress in building the game in 2018 making a 2019 launch possible.
