GoPay.cz, Czech’s leading payment gateway, has started accepting bitcoin, in cooperation with a Czech-based bitcoin startup, BitcoinPay. The move enables over 2000 merchants to accept the digital currency, as reported by Coin Telegraph.
“The leading Czech payment gateway provider Gopay is now accepting Bitcoin in cooperation with Bitcoinpay. More than 2000 merchants can accept Bitcoin now”, GoPay tweeted.
GoPay holds a permit granted by the Czech National Bank as an electronic money institution and is authorized to issue Electronic Money and provide payment services related to Electronic Money. The company has also enabled a new “Inline Gateway” feature that keeps customers on the initial site at all times.
"We always try to add new payment methods to our payment gateway and that's the reason why we chose Bitcoin currency. We experience wider interest about this payment method, not just one particular segment of merchants. They prefer bigger comfort when realizing payments”, GoPay's manager for customer service support Roman Valenta told to Cointelegraph.
BitcoinPay makes it easy for businesses to accept Bitcoins as a form of payment just like credit card, Paypal or cash. Merchant can choose to keep payments in the digital currency or have it converted to EUR, USD, PLN, CZK and other currencies and directly deposited daily into bank account, according to the company’s website.
