Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin are the subjects of a huge celeb rumor that started circulating Monday. The “Fifty Shades” actress is allegedly pregnant with her first baby. But her representatives were quick to dismiss the reports.
TMZ published a report earlier this week claiming that Johnson and Martin organized a gender reveal party for their first baby. The same article noted that the event happened at Martin’s home on Sunday and several Hollywood personalities were invited.
It was assumed that the party was meant to announce the gender of their baby after stringed pink and blue balloons were photographed flying in the air from Martin’s home. Johnson’s parents, Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, were also spotted arriving for the party, which might have sparked the idea that it was, indeed, a family event.
The list of visitors may have also added to the suspicion that the party meant a great deal to the couple. Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson’s party was attended by several Hollywood A-listers including Julia Roberts and husband Danny Moder, “Shameless” actor Jeremy White, and “Mystic River” star Sean Penn.
However, a spokesperson for Johnson immediately told news outlets that there was no gender reveal party at Martin’s home. Her rep clarified that it was “simply a birthday party.” It is important to note that Johnson turned 29 last Oct. 4, which makes her rep’s statement more plausible.
However, TMZ insisted on the likelihood of Johnson being pregnant. The report made a comment that the actress was sporting a “very baggy” outfit at the 2018 Global Citizen Festival in New York late last month.
It has been a year since Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin were first rumored to be dating. However, they are still avoiding to discuss their relationship with the media. When the actress was asked about Martin for her cover in Tatler magazine’s November 2018 issue, she only said, “I'm not going to talk about it. But I am very happy.”
