On Oct. 30, decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols had $83.95 billion in total value locked, the lowest reading since Aug. 21, while stablecoin supply remained below $300 billion.

TVL was down 5.3% from the prior reading. Stablecoin supply was $296.6 billion that day and had stayed below $300 billion since Oct. 24.

An earlier EconoTimes report put TVL at $87.8 billion on Oct. 26, when weekly changes varied across major protocols, in an update on DeFi TVL.

TVL is the point-in-time dollar value of assets counted by DeFi protocols. Token prices can change that valuation even if token balances remain flat, so the figure alone does not establish whether users deposited or withdrew assets. EconoTimes has explained why TVL rankings can diverge from net deposit changes.
