“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” chapter 196 will continue to feature the battle between the weakened Muzan against Tanjiro and Iguro. But perhaps that more exciting revelation is how Nezuko’s arrival might affect the outcome of the fight.
Muzan’s strength falters for the first time
In the recent “Demon Slayer” manga chapter which can be read online on MangaPlus, it was revealed how devastating Yoriichi’s attacks were for Muzan. According to the demon, the injuries inflicted by Yoriichi centuries ago “continue to burn my flesh, my very cells for hundreds of years like sunlight.” For Muzan, the real monster is Yoriichi and not him.
As Muzan weakened due to Tamayo’s medicine, he can no longer mask the wounds inflicted by Yoriichi ages ago. The scars became the target for Tanjiro and Iguro who deduced that those wounds must be the location of Muzan’s hearts and brains.
Facing the relentless attacks by Tanjiro and Iguro, the weakened Muzan decided to flee instead. For the first time in their fight, Muzan felt desperation and a sense of danger, which would only increase in “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” chapter 196.
“I’m running out of breath,” Muzan said. “My physical strength won’t last much longer. I can’t believe this.” If things continue as they are, Muzan will likely find himself in a disadvantaged position in “Demon Slayer” 196.
Nezuko’s arrival
The last page of the previous chapter featured the arrival of Tanjiro’s sister, Nezuko. She was last seen dashing off to somewhere a few chapters ago but it was not really revealed where she went to. “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” chapter 196 is expected to reveal a bit of her journey.
Eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice that one of Nezuko’s eyes seems to be reverting back into what it looked like when she was still human. This prompted speculations that she might finally be turning back into a human once more, which will be revealed in “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” chapter 196.
But some believe that Nezuko turning back into a human might put Tanjiro and the rest at a disadvantage. “Bad part is, human Nezuko means… no fire healing power which means Tanjiro and everyone poisoned are 100 percent going to die unless Muzan’s death causes the poison to disappear,” Redditor Swankyfranky_650 pointed out.
There is also one possibility that Muzan might seize Nezuko and absorb her ability to be unaffected by sunlight. If this happens in “Demon Slayer” chapter 196, Muzan would no longer have a time limit and would no longer fear the coming of dawn.
“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” chapter 196 will be released in March 2, 2020. Stay tuned for updates.
