It looks like Muzan will be in a bind in “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” chapter 196. The demon will finally realize that he has fallen into a trap, a trap set up by his long-dead enemy, Tamayo.
The official “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” chapter 196 release date is still a couple of days away but that’s not stopping a few spoilers from surfacing. Based on the supposed untranslated scans of the upcoming manga installment, the chapter’s summary suggests that the effects of Tamayo’s medicine on Muzan are far more sinister than previously thought.
It was already revealed in previous “Demon Slayer” chapters that the main effect of Tamayo’s medicine is to turn a demon back into a human. But if it failed the first objective, it will rapidly age the demon injected with the concoction.
The second scenario happened to Muzan. Instead of turning him back into a human, it rapidly aged him at a rate of 50 years a minute. In the three hours that he fought with the Pillars, Muzan has already aged 9,000 years making his body sluggish as a result.
Apparently, those two were not the only effects Tamayo’s medicine has on the demon. In “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” chapter 196, Muzan will become even more cautious and will carefully observe his body while fighting against Obanai and Tanjiro.
He will finally notice the medicine’s third effect. “So that's it, the three effects of that medicine are to make me human, to make me old, and to keep me from regenerating,” Muzan will conclude, according to the “Demon Slayer” chapter 196 summary.
But Tamayo will suddenly appear in Muzan’s mind to correct him. “I'm sorry, but you are wrong,” the slain demon will say. “That medicine has four effects.”
“The fourth is to destroy the cells because the first three effects help to weaken the body,” Tamayo will say with a sarcastic smile as Muzan starts to vomit blood. “Come on, you will have the death you have always hated.”
Meanwhile, Nezuko will also make her appearance in “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” chapter 196. The summary also confirms that just as fans have speculated, she will indeed be turning back into a human.
