‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’ chapter 203: Tanjiro’s demonic transformation could extend the manga’s plot

Fans will have to wait for another week before the “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” chapter 203 release date to arrive as the series is currently on a one-week break. After the events in the previous chapter, fans are worried about how Muzan’s goal of turning Tanjiro into his successor as King Demon could affect all Tanjiro’s relationship with his allies, as well as his sister, Nezuko.

Just as fans breathe a collective sigh of relief with Muzan’s apparent demise, the demon came up with a totally unexpected and cruel plan. Since he was about to die, Muzan decided to inject all of his remaining cells, his will and his goal to the then-dying Tanjiro, essentially turning the latter into his successor and the next Demon King.

The plan seemed to be working just fine. In the previous “Demon Slayer” manga chapter, which can be read on Mangaplus, Tanjiro’s transformation into a demon already started. In fact, he can no longer recognize his allies and fellow demon slayers as he attacked his close friends Inosuke, Giyu, and Zenitsu.

Thankfully, Kanao kept an extra dose of Shinobu’s medicine, which was specifically formulated to revert a demon back into a human. “Demon Slayer” chapter 203 is expected to reveal whether the medicine would work on Tanjiro and reverse his demonic transformation.

The good thing is that it appears Tanjiro has not totally transformed into a demon just yet. While he attacked Giyu, Inosuke and Zenitsu, he did not attack his sister Nezuko who is already bleeding. This could suggest that deep inside his mind, Tanjiro is still fighting the demonic urges with everything he’s got.

Given his determination, there are speculations that the medicine might just be the catalyst Tanjiro needs to overcome the effects of Muzan’s cells. Thus, “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” might show Tanjiro successfully fighting off his demonic transformation.

However, there are also some theories saying that Shinubo’s medicine might not be enough to reverse Tanjiro’s demonic transformation. If this happens, Tanjiro might end up becoming a demon in “Kimetsu no Yaiba” chapter 203.

However, Tanjiro turning into a demon might not be a totally bad thing for “Demon Slayer” fans. It could mean that the series won’t be ending after Muzan’s demise. But if this happens, Nezuko and Tanjiro’s roles will be revealed as it will now be the former trying her best to help her brother transform back into a human.
