The “Rise of Iron” expansion for “Destiny” is coming in September, but Bungie has been showing off some details that give players a lot of ideas as to what they can expect. One of the things that the developers have added is “Felwinter Peak,” which is a new social space where players can hang out. Also, Bungie has laid out their plans once the final expansion pack has been released.
Right now, players can visit two social spots in Destiny, Gamerant reports. One is the “Tower,” which is has been in the game since the beginning, and the other is the “Reef,” which was added with the release of the “House of Wolves” expansion. By adding “Felwinter Peak,” players now have another place to visit to find vendors, upgrade characters and get quests.
The first mission of the “Rise of Iron” expansion actually involves liberating “Felwinter Peak” from an army of “Fallen” enemies. Only after the mountain fortress has been cleared out will it become a social space for them to hang out in.
According to Bungie, the fortress is not meant to replace the “Tower,” but rather a more convenient base of operations while going through the missions in “Rise of Iron.” There are supposedly plenty of secrets for players to sift through in “Felwinter Peak,” so it should be a worthwhile addition to the game.
In terms of what the developers are planning once the expansion has finally been released, GameInformer reported that the “Festival of the Lost” will be coming back, along with all the goodies that came with it. Players will also get to participate in the “Sparrow Racing League,” which will be held on December. There will be some tweaks to the race tracks in terms of features and themes, which is something that Bungie took away from player feedback during the last event.
