Diet Coke is rolling out personalized cans and bottles across the UK, delighting fans with over 150 names. This initiative, reminiscent of the Share A Coke campaign, will be available nationwide with special promotions and prizes, including spa days and shopping sprees.
Diet Coke Launches Personalized Cans in the UK, Offering Fans a Refreshing and Unique Experience
Nothing is more refreshing than a cold beverage on a sweltering day, and Diet Coke enthusiasts are about to experience an even greater delight. The brand has announced a modification they believe is "perfectly logical," which will surely please thirsty customers.
Diet Coke is introducing personalized cans and bottles, which will soon have fans of the iconic beverage in the UK searching through chiller fridges in retailers. The limited edition versions of the well-known silver cans now read "Diet Coke Break by [name]" in addition to the trademark Diet Coke logo. Over 150 distinct names will be emblazoned on these products and visible nationwide.
This new initiative is reminiscent of the renowned Share A Coke campaign, substituting the brand name with customers' names. According to MSN, the iconic packaging was introduced in Australia 13 years ago, in 2011. Diet Coke is not unfamiliar with intelligent advertising strategies; its Diet Coke Break advertisements, featuring an attractive man and soundtracked to "I Just Want to Make Love to You," are particularly memorable.
For those unable to locate their name, Diet Coke offers the opportunity to win one of 4,000 bespoke cans. Supporters must purchase a bottle or can of Diet Coke, scan the QR code, and enter through the Coca-Cola App. Additionally, each purchaser of a personalized Diet Coke will be automatically entered into a weekly drawing, with prizes including spa days, luxurious hotel accommodations, and shopping sprees valued at up to $5,000.
Diet Coke Launches Personalized Cans with Summer Tour, Offering Fans Unique Experiences in London and Manchester
Senior marketing director for Diet Coke, Louise Maugest, commented, “We know how much our fans love a Diet Coke break, taking time for themselves amid their busy lives, so it made perfect sense for us to make that time even more special. We’re so excited to be bringing personalized cans to our fans this summer and we’d love to hear from them when they spot theirs in-store by tagging @DietCokeGB.”
Diet Coke will embark on a tour to commemorate the launch, providing supporters in London and Manchester with an exclusive experience. The Diet Coke Breaks By You airstream trailer events will be held in July and August, offering the opportunity to receive specialty Diet Coke-themed manicures. The airstream relaxation zone will allow visitors to unwind with an ice-cold Diet Coke or to adorn their manicures with their initials in the classic Diet Coke font. Additionally, each individual will receive a customized can.
