Sneaker enthusiasts were thrilled to get a first look at the Wu-Tang Nike Dunk High and witness Travis Scott debuting the Jordan Jumpman Jack in a red/gum colorway during his Circus Maximus Tour in London. The potential re-release of the iconic Wu-Tang Dunk High adds to the excitement.
Anticipation Builds for Potential Re-release of Rare Wu-Tang Nike Dunk Highs in Fall 2024
This enigmatic sneaker, initially released in 1999, was a collaboration with the Wu-Tang Clan. According to Sneaker News, it features the original yellow/black "Iowa" or "Goldenrod" colorway of the Dunk High, with the Wu-Tang logo stamped into the heel. It is widely believed that only 36 pairs were released to the public, exclusively at Training Camp, a renowned footwear boutique in New York City. Nevertheless, nearly 100 pairs were manufactured, half distributed to the Wu-Tang Clan and the other half retained by Nike.
Amidst the world of high-profile, high-dollar footwear, the Wu-Tang Dunk Highs are a rare and exclusive breed, often fetching prices as high as $50,000. Travis Scott, a key figure in the sneaker industry, acquired a pair during its resurgence in the early 2020s, showcasing them on social media and increasing demand among the younger generation, further cementing the exclusivity of these iconic sneakers.
In collaboration with the official Wu-Tang Clan Instagram account, Nike Sportswear's official Instagram account shared a brief video of the Wu-Tang Dunk being obscured by a cluster of bees on June 30, 2024. Although no additional context was provided, it is evident that Nike and the rap collective are strongly suggesting a re-release.
While no official announcement has been made regarding a re-release, @zsneakerheadz/Sneaker Files eagerly anticipates the potential release of the Wu-Tang Dunk Highs in the fall of 2024. The excitement and anticipation for this possible event are palpable among sneaker enthusiasts and fans of the Wu-Tang Clan.
Travis Scott Unveils New Jordan Jumpman Jack Red/Gum Colorway During Circus Maximus Tour in Europe
During his Circus Maximus Tour in Europe, Cactus Jack performed in London and Manchester over the weekend. Devoted followers of Travis Scott shoes will be delighted to learn that the Houston native unveiled a previously unseen colorway of the Jordan Jumpman Jack. At the same time, audiophiles were captivated by an opening performance from Yung Lean and a comprehensive set list featuring several unexpected guests.
The Jordan Jumpman Jack, one of two new Travis Scott silhouettes set to release in 2024 (the other being the Zoom Sharkidon), merges elements of the Air Jordan 1 with training shoes from the late 1980s/early 1990s era. It features a forefoot strap. The "Sail" and "University Red" colorways have been published so far, with the "Mocha" and "Bright Cactus" set to continue the debut collection
Travis Scott wore a portion of the impending red/gum colorway, which matches his red Nike headband. The shoe features a white reverse Swoosh logo. Detailed shots of the shoes have yet to be disclosed; however, photographer @henryhwu has captured remarkable images that should provide a comprehensive preview of the sneaker.
More information is available regarding whether these are a one-time occurrence for Travis Scott's collection or if they will be released. Please remain vigilant for further updates.
