Called Digital World Ventures (DWV), a new bitcoin-only exchange, has launched in Perth, the largest city and capital of Western Australia. It will target customers across the country who want exchange the Australian dollar (AUD) with bitcoin by leveraging Alpha Point, the exchange software provider.
Ian Davies, DWV director James Clarke and co-founder, said that regardless of his company's location (given that Perth is a rural state with approximately one inhabitant per square kilometre), he is confident that it has an untapped market, which lacks a strong approach to customer service or technology.
"We've got a lot of people coming into the exchange space that either have a heavy technical focus or we've got the finance guys coming in and running exchanges. Because we've experienced both sides, we're able to bring that together", Davies told CoinDesk.
