‘Doctor Who’ season 10’s episode 7, titled "The Pyramid at the End of the World," is set to follow Doctor, Bill, and Nardole as they prepare for an unusual alien invasion. Meanwhile, actress Pearl Mackie expressed her uncertainty on her character’s fate following Peter Capaldi’s imminent departure from the show.
The synopsis for "The Pyramid at the End of the World” posted on Den of Geek reads, “A 5,000-year-old pyramid stands at the centre of a war zone, where the Chinese, Russian, and American armies are about to clash. There are many problems with that, but the one that intrigues the Doctor is this: there wasn’t a pyramid there yesterday.
The Doctor (Peter Capaldi), Bill (Pearl Mackie) and Nardole (Matt Lucas) face an alien invasion unlike any other – before conquest can begin, these aliens need the consent of the human race.”
The upcoming episode is set to feature the Doctor as he attempts to solve the mystery of an ancient pyramid that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere. He and Bill, together with Nardole, will be forced to face an unusual alien invasion, where the aliens need the human race’s full consent to push through with a take-over.
Meanwhile, Capaldi confirmed that he would not be returning for future seasons of the popular British science-fiction television series back in January. Actress Pearl Mackie also expressed her uncertainty on whether her character Bill will continue to stay on the show following Capaldi’s departure.
According to Metro, Mackie was asked whether she would follow suit to which she replied, “I don’t know – well, it’s not up to me I don’t think – but I feel like Peter is the most wonderful doctor and I think the dynamic he and I have playing the Doctor and Bill really works, that’s not to say it wouldn’t work with a new Doctor.”
She added, “But yeah, I think it’s always a new adjustment getting a new doctor and that dynamic is different because you’re different actors and characters.”
‘Doctor Who’ season 10’s episode 7, titled "The Pyramid at the End of the World," is scheduled to air on BBC One on May 27, 2017. It was directed by Daniel Nettheim and written by Peter Harness and Steven Moffatt. It will be followed by episode 8, titled "The Lie of the Land," directed by Wayne Yip and written by Toby Whithouse and scheduled to be released on June 3.
