‘Domestic Girlfriend’ season 2 potential spoilers: Hina and Natsuo may never get back together
First, it is understandable if anime-only fans are still rooting for Hina and Natsuo to be a couple again. The show ended with their saddening breakup while the story of Natsuo and Rui has yet to be explored in the anime adaptation. So, looking forward to “Domestic Girlfriend” season 2, it is not surprising that many viewers are still hoping for the Natsuo-Hina ship to flourish. Unfortunately, the latest events in the manga series suggest that it might no longer happen.
The manga has advanced so much in terms of plot development that fans insisting on waiting for “Domestic Girlfriend” season 2 before reading the original series is actually missing out. The biggest plot twist is that Rui is pregnant, and it is almost certainly Natsuo’s baby.
Natsuo and Rui have broken up, too, the last time they were together. But their breakup was done in good faith and with a plan that they would eventually get back together. So, in case the anime series returns with “Domestic Girlfriend” season 2 and more installments in the future, this is the plot that fans will be going through. As mentioned, the story is very much far along in the manga compared to where the anime concluded last year. So fans who were hooked with the story that Kei Sasuga crafted might want to read the manga now while “Domestic Girlfriend” season 2 is still unconfirmed.
There is no harm in continuously waiting for “Domestic Girlfriend” season 2 to arrive. But, as it stands, many good things have already happened in the manga that it might even be enough to compensate for the lack of update about the anime.
